I've been thinking about blogging for a little while now. I thought I'd write down a little 'Pros/Cons' list. This is a very short list, but what the hey
Pros
- I can share my experience with others and hopefully help someone with an issue that I've been through and have resolved
- I can share issues I'm going through and receive help from members of the community
- Writing will help me go over issues in my mind, which can possibly spark a resolution
- Writing can also spark a great brain storming session among members of the community, which would benefit everyone
I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Har Har Har, I added jb to jbWorld :-p
I've been going on a coding spree this past 48 hours, have gotten too little sleep and have been typing jbSomething way too much lately lol.
ok, time to get a bit serious here.
Development
What I'm trying to do is code in overdrive to add a certain feature set to jbApp and jbRoster (see the "Road Map" forums) before moving on to three important projects I have in the mix:
1 - Creating User Manuals for jbApp and jbRoster
2 - Getting jbLeague v0.01 out the door
Thanks to the hard work of Yak, we now have German Language files for both jbApp and jbRoster.
You can find the language files in the downloads section of the site.
Once again, thank you Yak, for taking the time and effort to contribute to jbClan!
HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!
Here's the next release of jbClan!
I feel this is an important release, as there are three important changes in this release:
1: Added security against SQL Injections -
I have switched from using my own custom validation code to using e107's built in validation method
2: Added English Language Files -
This will allow users to create Language Files for their own language. (If you do create a language file, please consider contacting me and donating your custom Language File to jbClan so I can include it in the standard release)
After getting some great feedback about a few minor bugs, and addressing those issues, I have uploaded jbClan v3.01 to http://plugins.e107.org and http://www.e107coders.org.
And low and behold, 5 minutes after uploading jbClan v3.01, we found another bug lol (thank you for the feedback sb4ts). It appears that when a user submits an application, the "Nick Name" value is entered into the jbRoster database, but the attribute display name ("Nick Name") is not entered. This results in no label being displayed on the main roster and profile pages.
After a few weeks of development and 3 days of heavy testing, I'm pleased to announce the release of jbClan v3.01.
As a reminder, I have updated and renamed jbOrganization back to jbClan.
jbClan is a collection of personnel management modules.
You can use it for FPS Gaming Clans, RPG Gaming Guilds, Club Sports Teams or any other gathering of people, including company personnel, book clubs etc...
jbClan currently contains a Member Roster module (jbRoster) and a Member Application module (jbApp).
Progress with jbClan:
I've made some great progress making jbRoster and jbApp fully e107v7 compliant (when I was last supporting them, e107 was still transitioning from v6 to v7).
While I'm at it, I've been adding a few new features. Please see the forums for planned feature additions. I won't be adding all of the listed features in the next release, but a good amount of them. Please login and add your suggestions, that is the only way we can all make jbClan the best it can be.
I've been quite busy lately. Between my wife being ill and job interviews, I haven't had much time to do anything but take care of my wife and two beautiful little girls.
I've been poking at the code a bit here and there, and am finally ready to release jbClan v3.03.
I'm very excited about this release, as it introduces two new great features:
- The ability send applications to up to four forums
- The ability to assign User Classes to Member and Leader status so that members are assigned to those User Classes when switched between statuses automatically
